The idea of a United Nations Global Compact relating to the social responsibility of companies was launched by the UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.
The Agbar Group joined this initiative in 2002 and, as a result, is committed to adopt, support and promulgate, in its field of influence, a group of fundamental values in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges; |

undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and |

encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies. |

| Anti-Corruption | ||
Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. |
