Agbar Foundation

THE AGBAR FOUNDATION WAS CREATED BY AGUAS DE BARCELONA IN 1998 FROM THE CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS E INVESTIGACIÓN Y APLICACIONES DEL AGUA.

Its objectives are the promotion of sustainable development, based on research, innovation, knowledge dissemination and the improvement of the quality of life of the human being, through education and training, and support to initiatives reducing both social and physical barriers.

The Foundation coordinates the initiatives aiming at promoting sustainable development in the Group companies as a whole. It is also in charge of the corporate sociocultural activity, through sponsorship and patronage actions, as well as the development of its own programmes, the most important of which is the Museu Agbar de les Aigües, inaugurated in June of 2004.

The Museum is an initiative of the Agbar Foundation, emerging from the desire of sharing a very special common industrial heritage from which to project the values related to the water culture and to encourage favourable attitudes towards water and its knowledge.
